Casa L

Casa L actually consists out of 2 luxury houses and covers 70% of the total villa. The rental price is based on the fact that house 3 (the other 30% of this split level villa) can be inhabited by one or two of the Dutch owners during your stay. Because of the transverse position and difference in height as well as the different terraces and places to relax, lots of privacy is guaranteed for everyone! And regardless of their presence or not: if you rent Casa L you will always have exclusive use of the swimming pool, the sun terraces around the pool, the lower hammock terrace, and the pétanque court / play field.

House 1 is located in the front and easily accommodates 4 persons (90m2). The living room is modern and bright with a complete, open-planned kitchen and a nicely decorated lounge area. The outside spaces offer both shadow and sun: the living room sliding doors bring you to your private east terrace with panoramic views and on the other side is the large south-west facing patio. This is also the barbecue area and it’s fenced, so children can play safely. The spacious master bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed (180m) and sliding doors to the sunny east terrace. A second spacious bedroom has two comfortable single beds and a private washing facility. There is one luxuriously finished bathroom with a rain shower and hand shower. All rooms have air conditioning: cooling and heating. In the large hallway, you find extensive tourist information, brochures and books, and there are games and DVDs. For small children, there are pool and beach toys.

From the parking or directly from the east terrace of house 1 you can enter house 2 (only accessible form the outside!), located at the swimming pool at the backside of the villa. This very nice pool apartment for 2 persons (55m2) has a living room with kitchenette, bedroom (180cm wide bed), en-suite bathroom, and great views to the never ending hillside. It’s directly attached to your private terrace with swimming pool and large outdoor table.

Outside Casa L

Pool and leisure area: via your private east terrace you walk to your private backyard with the beautifully situated swimming pool behind the villa, purified with magnesium salt (good for skin and anti-allergenic!). Here are more breathtaking views of the hills and there is a beautiful sun terrace with a large outside dining table where you can eat and sit in the shade.

The first part of the pool is shallow and possible to close off with a line: ideal for small children! A jet stream ensures that you can swim the necessary ‘laps’. The pool can be heated (against costs) between the beginning of April and mid-October. Below the swimming pool are 2 more terraces in the forest, where you can relax or play pétanque. Here are also 2 hammocks and a swing for small children.

Surroundings of Casa L

Although the villa seems to be in the middle of nature, it is centrally located and very easily accessible from the road. Faro airport is only a 20-minute drive and beaches can be reached within half an hour. From Casa L you have a view over an extensive nature reserve with olives, pine trees, cork oaks, and eucalyptuses. Casa L is situated at the end of Alportel, a tiny village where you can have a simple lunch, dinner, or snack. The nature reserve starts directly behind the house with the Alportel River below. You can have great walks here! Rented bikes can be delivered to the house. A ten-minute walk brings you to the Fonte Ferrea park with the river, hiking trails, a forest hut (snacks and drinks), and a picnic/barbecue area.

There is a wide choice of restaurants in the area and at 3 km is the friendly town of São Brás de Alportel with shops, restaurants, a wide range of (inter)national supermarkets, and the covered fresh market on Saturdays. The modern MAR Shopping with a great outlet is only a fifteen-minute drive away. Loulé is also a fifteen-minute drive and has a monumental market and cozy streets. The various beaches of the beautiful Ria Formosa and the nice coastal towns of Tavira, Olhão, Fuseta and Faro can be reached within half an hour. From here you can take the boat to one of the islands. The more upscale Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago are also a 30-minute drive away. And if you go the North you drive through a really beautiful hilly landscape. Within the hour you reach the renowned wineries of the Alentejo.

You will notice little of all the tourists who visit the Algarve in the high season, but if you wish you can be in the bustle within half an hour. Casa L therefore offers the perfect basis for a wonderful and luxurious holiday for families, food lovers, nature lovers, and sports enthusiasts!

• With a stay of at least 12 nights; 1 x small cleaning in between is included.
• Pool heating is available on request between the beginning of April and mid-October, 50 Euros + daily costs (around 10 euros a day extra).
• Due to its location, the pool with sundeck loses its sun position in winter, from the end of October till early April.
